Would you ask a painter to work on a dirty wall? Or a dentist to clean your teeth without rinsing first? Or a chef to prep a dish in a greasy pan? Neither would we.
Our tailors are people first—and skilled craftsmen second. They work closely with your garment, using their hands, eyes, and full attention. Sending in unwashed items and expecting them to work in that state simply isn’t fair—or kind. Clean items aren’t just about respect—they also allow for better repairs. A fresh garment helps them inspect more accurately, stitch more precisely, and deliver the result your item deserves.
That’s why we charge a €20 cleaning fee per item. Washing also delays your order, as repairs only start once the item is clean and the fee has been paid. Let’s keep it respectful, so your clothes get the love they deserve.
Exceptions
This policy does not apply if you send in a new item that is unused. Also, if you have a jacket or vest of very specific materials that are hard to wash, please send us a message at support@mended.eu.
No washing?
If you don't want your item to be washed, no problem—we will return it to you. In that case, we will reimburse the order, minus €10 shipping costs and 10% of the original repair price for handling and packaging. If your repair was free or discounted, we will charge you €10 shipping costs plus 10% of the original (non-discounted) repair fee.
